I'm back (I think)
It's been awhile since I clicked on this blog and WOW, alot has changed since my last post back in August 2008. First and foremost, I'm married now...just over 5 months and happily I may add. But what a whirlwind year and half it's been since Mr. Pickles first popped the big question, and WOW, what an emotional roller coaster it's been!
Looking back I've come to the conclusion that the "engagement journey" (as I'll term it for now until I come up with a wittier phrase) is one of the most confusing times in an independent 30 something woman's life. It is also one of the most least discussed topics amongst women...I mean society expects women to marry and also informs us that it's one big happy and blissful party right? Well I call BS, b/c it's SO not!
My goal in starting this blog back up (besides providing some entertainment to the few friends that will read this) is to reflect on my own personal engagement journey and to spread the word that being engaged kinda sucks but that marriage is WAY better, and that in the end some of us manage to actually live up to society's marriage expectations (at least 5 months into it). So stay tuned...
