What a Long and Crazy Summer...
Wow, what an understatement! I realized the other day that it's been awhile since my last post and in keeping up with my 2006 New Years resolution to continue this blog, I am FINALLY getting around to writing.
It's been a roller coast of a summer full of travels, adventures with friends, falling in love, and birthdays. Here's some brief highlights with all the juicy details on the new boy (which is what I know everyone is really waiting for)!
MAY
Worch Wedding- Rehobeth Beach, DE
The month started off with trip back home for a good friend from college's wedding, my first trip back since Xmas time. I got to see the family, along with a TON of VT friends that I hadn't seen in awhile. These kind of trips are always a bit reminiscent for me as I continue to struggle with "what coast do I really want to live on?" And this one proved to be much of the same...
A Tri-Athlete?
I also completed the Napa Valley Sprint Triathlon, my first real one. A 1/2 mi swim, 15 mi. bike ride, and 5K run. I trained with a few co-workers and it went pretty well. I actually liked it and can see myself doing more!
JUNE
Union St. Fair
Ahh the infamous Union St. Fair, one of my favorite days of the year! In typical fashion it was beautiful, 80 degrees and sunny...a near perfect day for June in SF. Whit and I threw a party and had guests in and out all morning long. Janine made an appearance from the East Coast and we partied it up on Union St. and all the usual Marina bars, including a last stop at our favorite bar, Cheers. Oh yeah, this is also where my love affair started with Mr. Pickles. More details to follow on this....
Boggs visits SF
A fun fun filled weekend with one of my favorite girlfriends from college (well technically not college since we met after).
We managed to pack in the weekend with dinner at Powell's place, out in the Marina for MJ's b-day, a Giants game filled with lots of alcohol including Crystal. And best of all she got to meet Mr. Pickels and gives the stamp of approval. Thanks monk!
Cabo San Lucas, MX (June 16-June 20)
Four girls, four nights hanging out in the sun down Cabo= trouble. All I have to say about that one!
JULY
July 4th Holiday Weekend
Spent one night in SD visiting my favorite West Coast Hokies, Dawn and Tayloe. Also managed to fit in a wine tour up in Sonoma and then a bbq at my apt. It turned out to be a sunny day in SF on July 4th so we decided to take advantage of the nice weather, which is so rare for July in SF.
Back to DC One More Time
Orginally, I wasn't planning on going home for this wedding as my friend Michele decided to elope a few months back and was just having a small reception to celebrete. But after Mr. Pickles, and I started dating and as things progressed, I thought it would be a great chace for him to meet the family and test out his reaction to DC. The weekend was amazing and it really solidified what I pretty much already knew...that I was falling in love with a really really great guy. I could go on forever about this, but so far he has exceeded every sort of expectation about guys, dating, etc and it's very odd yet very refreshing to be in a normal, drama free relationship...
Cache Creek Rafting Trip
A two night camping/one day rafting trip with Travis/Renee and crew during the CA heat wave. 100+ degree temps in Rumsey, CA (2 hrs N. of SF). Two man boats, in class III rapids....hilarious.
AUGUST
Aug 13- My B-day!
(A very important date, I may add). My 29th B-day was spent with friends at Limon in the mission. Great food and friends...what more could a girl ask for?

Umm... you call him Mr. Pickles? This requires an explanation (off line).
Alice, it's all about the famous (or infamous) t-shirt!
